Virlok - The legacy of the Yaksha

One of the floating islands accessible to Mythwalkers. While subject to intermittent Nirvana storms, COVEN has deployed a mechanism to disrupt Nirvana for a brief period, allowing Mythwalker to land safely on Virlok. This gives enough time to capture a single piece of Cosmium before Nirvana quickly returns in a matter of minutes. Although Mythwalkers have ventured there ever so often, it still holds many mysteries waiting to be revealed.

Interested in learning about various map areas and their origins in Virlok? Let's delve into them below 🗺️

  • Gufa

A stunning cultural monument that is carved into a massive rock outcrop. This monument stands as one of the more impressive examples of traditional Yaksha architecture. Such traditional structures are uncommon in Virlok, where most other buildings employ advanced engineering techniques and materials.

  • Shrine

Located near the island's center, the Shrine is a large monument, perhaps built as a memorial or a place of reverence. The exact purpose behind its construction is lost to time, yet the structure's beauty conveys a story that transcends words. Even after millennia it still remains a prominent location, albeit for a different reason. Its central position draws many Mythwalkers, transforming the Shrine into their common graveyard.

  • Refinery

This industrial complex was specifically built to refine Viralite, a material used for energy storage. As a naturally energy-absorbing material, Viralite was in high demand due to its usage in nearly all Yaksha technology. Mined locally and processed directly on Virlok, the refinery was a vital component of the Yaksha's mission to achieve full energy self-sufficiency for Virlok.

  • Vikram Labs

The floating islands were a major hub for technological advancement for the Yaksha, and Virlok was no exception. Much of Virlok was dedicated to scientific research, development, and the production of new technologies. Vikram Labs was part of this scientific endeavor, with a focus on space research.

  • Obra Nagar

A power plant that served as the main energy source for the whole island. The Yaksha employed an unknown method for power generation, which fueled all their technology. Though evidence exists for their energy storage technology, they didn't appear to rely on fossil fuels or nuclear power for energy generation. This fact makes Obra Nagar a significant site for COVEN's investigations.

  • Lok Terminal

This location served as the main transport hub of the Island. Most of the goods and people moved between the surface and Virlok through the Portal situated here. Created by the Yaksha, the Portals were remarkable technological marvels that enabled instantaneous travel across the Galaxy. However, the Yaksha eventually rendered the Portal here nonfunctional by removing all the Cosmium nodes, and as such it can’t be used anymore.
